HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE PIER
PROJECT
COMPLETED
What a great accomplishment! A special thank you to Mike Scott and Larry Kranig, the
project
chairmen, for all their hard work and efforts!
We also appreciate the Green County Conservation League, which donated the materials for the
handicapped picnic tables, and to Emerson Wells for building them. Thank you also to all the volunteers who worked hard on the
landscaping and painted the tables. The DNR
finished the project by paving the parking area, painting the lines and putting up the
signs.
WAL-MART DONATES $1000

On June 8, Monroe Wal-Mart manager Ron Fager presented a check for
$1000 for the new playground project to chairpersons Sharon Buri and Lucy Roper. We are very grateful for such generosity! The new playground will make the park more enjoyable for
families and will be an asset to the entire community. Contributions to this project may be sent to Friends Of
Cadiz Springs, PO Box 36, Browntown, WI 53522.

Painful and debilitating injuries
are often caused to wildlife–like this Canada goose–when they become entangled in fishing line
left on the ground at Cadiz Springs. Please
be careful to properly dispose of all fishing line.
We are grateful for these area
businesses, which
have been very generous with their
help in making
improvements to the park:
Kranig Excavating used a
mini-excavator to remove stumps and brush
from the Zander Lake dike and near
the beach.
Jeff Voegli Landscaping
gave us the use of a dump truck for that project.
Mike Scott of D & M Homes has given a lot of his time and
the use of his bobcat.
Mike Connors of Connors Plumbing And Heating also loaned us a
bobcat.
Brad Bader from Carousel
Farms let us use a trailer.

Friends Of Cadiz Springs and Monroe Youth Hockey are putting on this
event to raise funds for both groups. Business
sponsors are Monroe Sign Design and Brennan’s Market.
You can help by making copies of the enclosed flyer and distributing
them to your friends, or posting them in businesses in southern Wisconsin and northern
Illinois. (Shoe stores and sporting goods retailers are especially good
locations.)
Thank you to everyone who helped support our Spaghetti Supper! $330
was raised for park improvements! We appreciate
those who donated desserts, who helped serve the food, and to all who came and ate
spaghetti. A special thank you to Lucy Roper and
Sharon Buri for organizing the event, and to the Monroe Pizza Hut for doing the
cooking.
We are grateful for being able to use the beautiful Browntown Civic
Center. And a big thank you to the following
businesses and organizations for their generous donations:
Swiss Colony
Swiss Valley Farms
SevenUp/American Bottling of Madison
Green County Ag Chest
In May, the DNR Fisheries Division stocked 800 northern pike
fingerlings in Beckman Lake. The objective is to
reduce the population of green sunfish and prevent overpopulation of small
panfish.
Many

the park at the Balloon Rally and at Browntown Day.
